David Farrar

Richmond, Virginia

Ironically, I learned to play golf using hickory clubs. The youngest of four, when it came my turn to learn, my parents had run out of their old clubs. So grandfather’s old hickories became mine. Biltmore irons, and a Wilson Brassie and Baffie. Of course, I switched to steel, but never forgot how much fun the old hickories were.

I started again with hickories when a friend gave me a Wilson Wilsonian Brassie. I was hooked. It brought back memories of how much fun I had as a kid, even playing crappy golf. Good thing, because I still play crappy golf.

What’s in David’s Bag?

I have two sets: A George Nicoll set from 1900 with three woods and five irons (nearly impossible to hit), and a Tad Moore set of OA’s with three woods.
